Executive Team

Director

Dr. Dan-el Padilla Peralta received his BA in Classics (summa cum laude) from Princeton University, where he was chosen salutatorian of his class. He received his MPhil from the University of Oxford and his PhD in Classics from Stanford University. He was a Mellon Research Fellow at Columbia University and joined the Classics Department at Princeton University as a tenure-track professor in the fall of 2016. His memoir Undocumented: A Dominican Boy’s Odyssey from a Homeless Shelter to the Ivy League was published in July 2015.

Principal

Mr. Michael MacKay received his BA in Classics (magna cum laude) from Columbia University, MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and MPhil in Classics from the University of Cambridge. He has also studied Classics at the University of Oxford and excavated near Rome. He taught Latin and Attic Greek as a Penn Fellow at The Taft School. 

Coordinator

Ms. Paula Gaither received her BA in Classics from Columbia University, where she was awarded the Kellett Fellowship for an MPhil in Classics from the University of Oxford. She is also pursuing a PhD in Classics from Stanford University, and she has been awarded a one-year curatorial position at the Getty Villa. She earned her Classics Diploma from Phillips Exeter Academy.

Advisor

Dr. Elizabeth Meyer is the Chair of the Classics Department at Phillips Academy Andover, where she has taught Latin and Greek for almost twenty years. She earned her BA and MA in Classics from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her PhD in Classics from Boston University.
